Schoolgirl stabbed two teachers on vacation to have “the biggest audience”

The school tried to kill two teachers and a colleague student during a break, so she will have “the biggest possible audience”.

The 14-year-old girl arm himself with her father’s multi-instrument before attacking teachers Fiona Elias and Liz Hopkin and a student at Ysgol Dyffryn Aman in Amanford, Kararteshire, on April 24 last year.

After the attack, she told the police, “This is one way to be a celebrity.”

Judge Paul Thomas CK sentenced her to a 15 -year detention in the Suuzi Crown court on Monday for attempted murder, half of which should be spent on detention.

During the hearing, the girl seems to show no emotions, often sketches or makes notes.

The judge criticized the girl, saying he believes he did not show remorse for the incident and even continued to threaten someone while in custody.

“I think you liked the reaction and publicity,” he said. “I don’t think you really regret what you did. You said you are, but I don’t think you really feel like it.

“You will be told by those who represent you that you will have to be kept in a safe place, as you have been for almost a year.

“Even where you are right now, you are a danger to others and have threatened someone.”

The girl started her attack outside during a break at school, while dozens of students were around, as witnesses saying she shouted, “I’ll kill you.”

When the girl struck D -Ja Elias, D -Ja Kopkin tried to hold the girl and told her colleague to escape. The student fights freely and stabbed the teacher on the neck, back and legs.

While other staff members tried to calm the girl, she ran to stab another student before she was finally restrained.

After her arrest, the girl made unwanted comments in the back of a police vehicle, including telling officers, “This is one way to be a celebrity.”

She said, “I’m almost sure it will be in the news, so more eyes will look at me.”

Judge Thomas said: “What you did at school almost a year ago until the day caused a large number of people a lot of harm and disorder.

“This is very affected many lives, including, of course, yours.

“But D -Ja Elias and D -Ja Kapkin read this morning how they suffered.

The judge said she believed that the girl intentionally carried out the attack during a school vacation so that the biggest audience could have.

“You wanted as much as possible to see what you planned to do,” he said.

“What you thought of Mrs. Elias, what do you think [the other pupil] He may have done you any problems with the bullying you had, none of this comes to a million miles of what you did or tried to do. “

Fiona Elias said that the signs and sights she goes past are a constant reminder that “she tried to kill me,” looking at the young girl.

D -Ja Elias, who defined himself as a workaholic who had been in the school for about 20 years, said he had previously joked that he would be buried on the front lawn.

“I never believed the joke would come close to reality,” she said.

D -Ja Elias told the court that the day had started as usual, but “everything shifted in an instant.”

“I will never forget the moment I saw the top of the blade – he returns to me often.”

She said she continued to feel guilty about the incident, for the students who witnessed him, the parents worry outside the school and that she was moving from Gi Kapkin, who intervened to save her.

Turning to the defendant, she said, “While your name and face are anonymous, my story will never be forgotten. I am a victim of an attempt to kill my workplace.”

Elias said that she did not “turn off” in the future, corresponding to the student, but first wants to know that she is making progress by describing it by showing “very little remorse” during the process.

D -hopkin, in his statement to court, said he was glad to stop the girl’s attack, as a more vulnerable staff member could be killed.

“I was in the right place at the right time,” she said. “Luck took me out for this vacation. I’m glad I was there with Fiona and I could prevent you from killing her.”

She added, “I really believe I saved you both.”

Previously, the girl pleaded guilty to three charges of wounding with the intention and a more increasing count of the possession of blades in school premises – but denied attempted murder.

She was found guilty after a week -long process in February.

Michael Ceie of the Crown Prosecutor’s Office said: “This must have been a terrifying incident for the victims and those who witnessed it.

“The evidence presented by CPS demonstrated the defendant’s intention when she smeared and used weapons at school.

“Fortunately, this intention is not fulfilled. We hear too often about incidents involving knives ending with the tragic loss of life.

“We would like to recognize the courage of staff and students in Ysgol Dyffryn Aman at this very difficult time.”
